Abandoned Elementary School - Capron/Drewryville, VA

For my second attempt at urban exploration I discovered an abandoned school located in Drewryville, VA. From the look of the building this school had been possibly an elementary school for a small population of students. Although the building was completely intact, there was absolutely nothing in the building. No school furniture, no appliances, no doors, nothing! What was even more surprising was that no one had tagged the building, either inside or outside. I can only assume this was due to the rural location of the building. Enjoy.

Tips for Urban Exploration:

  • Try your best not to go alone. I know that this sounds easier said than done, but this could be every helpful when accessing certain locations or even running into trouble. Having a phone is also a good idea.
  • Wear shoes with a thick sole and watch where you step.
  • Bring gloves and be careful of what you touch.
  • Bring a flashlight.
  • Bring a mask (a lot older buildings could have asbestos in the air).
